Week 2 of the high school track season has more meets on the schedule, as more teams begin their season.

Several meets will be taking place in Wyoming. Afton, Burlington, Casper, Green River, and Newcastle are hosting events this week.

Some teams are heading out of state to Colorado, Nebraska, and Utah.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23:

Out-of-State events:

2022 Bingham/Riverton at Riverton, UT – Lyman

FRIDAY, MARCH 25:

Burlington Invite at Burlington HS – Burlington, Dubois, Ft. Washakie, Meeteetse, Powell, Riverside, Rocky Mountain, Shoshoni, St. Stephens, Ten Sleep, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy, Wind River, Worland

Powell swept the team titles.

Riverside's Vinaya Vanderploeg swept the hurdles races.

Worland's Aaron Carver won both boys' hurdle races. 

Green River Invite at Green River HS – Big Piney, Encampment, Green River, H.E.M., Lander Valley, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs, Saratoga

Green River won the girls' team title. Rock Springs took the boys' crown.

Ryann Smith of Rawlins won the 800 & 1600 meters. Eva Nitschke from Rawlins won the 100-meters and & 100-meter hurdles. Saratoga's Whitney Bennett wins the long and triple jumps.

Lander's Shawn Cozzens swept the sprints. Lander's Gage Gose won both hurdle races. Christopher Wilson of Green River captured both the long and triple jumps. Teammate Cole Murray won the shot and discus.

KW Quad Meet at Geldien Stadium at Kelly Walsh HS – Douglas, Glenrock, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County

Kelly Walsh wins both team titles in their home event.

KW's Madeline Thorn swept the sprints. Finley Klinger won both long-distance races. NC's Alesha Lane won both the shot and discus.

Cameryn Spence won the 400 & 800 meters. KW's Chase Ortberg won both hurdle races. Cam Burkett swept the throwing events for KW.

Laura Chord Memorial at Newcastle HS – Arvada-Clearmont, Buffalo, Glenrock, Hulett, Kaycee, Lusk, Midwest, Moorcroft, Newcastle, Sundance, Thunder Basin, Upton, Wheatland, Wright

Thunder Basin wins both team titles. ***These results do not include any field events. We're hoping they correct it.

Wheatland's Lily Nichols wins the 400 & 800 meters. Thunder Basin's Jayden Friedly wins the 100-meters & 300-meter hurdles.

Wheatland's Rodee Brow wins the 200 & 400-meters. Thunder Basin's Steven Mansheim wins both hurdle races. 

Salt River Quad in Afton, WY at Star Valley HS – Evanston, Jackson, Pinedale, Star Valley

Did not see team results.

SV's Sara McKen swept the sprints and won the triple jump.

Jackson's Jack Joyce won both sprint races. SV's John Hunting finished 1st in the 800 & 1600-meters. Teammate Khale Clinger took the high jump, long jump & triple jump. Colt Sotelo from SV won both throwing events.

Out-of-State events:

Binfield Invite at Scottsbluff, NE – Lingle-Ft. Laramie, Torrington

Torrington won the girls' team title and finished 3rd in the boys' division.

Torrington's Tyne Stokes won the 400 & 800 meters. Marissa Moorehouse took 1st in the 200-meters, long jump, and triple jump. Torrington's Benjamin Fuller won the boys' long jump. Teammate Ayden Loya won the 800-meters. Brendan Flock from Torrington won the 200 meters. Lingle's Kyland Fuller won the 400-meters.

Max Marr Invitational at Berthoud, CO – Cheyenne East

East girls finished 5th, while the boys took 4th.

Taliah Morris won the 100-meters and long jump. Caydence Eicholtz topped the pole vault.

Marik Cummings won the 200-meters and was 2nd in the 100. East won the 4x100 meter relay. 

SATURDAY, MARCH 26:

Out-of-State events:

Broomfield Shootout 2022 in Broomfield, CO - Sheridan

Addie Pendergast won the 200 & 400 meters. Hannah Sullivan won the shot put. Preslee Moser won the high jump. 

Copper Hills Invitational in West Jordan, UT – Cokeville, Mountain View

Mountain View was 5th and Cokeville 11th in the girls' team standings. The Buffalos were 8th and Panthers 16th in the boys.

Cokeville's Emmie Barnes was 2nd in the 100 hurdles and 5th in the long jump.

MV's Jaylee Antonino & Kate Giorgis went 1-2 in the 300 hurdles. They also won the 4x800 relay. Connor Micheli won the boys' pole vault. Carson Eardley was runner-up in the boys' 300 hurdles. They were 2nd in the 4x800 relay.

John Ganser Invite in Sidney, NE – Burns, Cheyenne South, Laramie

Burns was 6th, Laramie 8th, and Cheyenne South 9th in the girls' division. Burns was 6th, South 8th, and Laramie 9th in the boys.

Burns' Emma Gonzalez won the 800 & 1600 meters. Teammate Rylee Jo Ward won the 100 hurdles and the pole vault. 

Morrill Early Bird in Morrill, NE – Pine Bluffs, Southeast

Pine Bluffs was 6th and Southeast 8th in the girl's division. The Hornets finished 3rd and Southeast was 7th.

Carson Rabou won the 110 hurdles. Shelby Ekwall was 1st in the shot put. Alyssa Slade took the high jump title. Reed Thompson won the long jump. Stuart Lerwick took the triple jump.

Runners Roost Invitational at French Field in Fort Collins, CO – Cheyenne Central, Laramie, Natrona County

The Natrona girls took 3rd, while Central was 5th and Laramie 7th. On the boys' side, Central placed 3rd, while NC was 7th and Laramie 10th.

NC's Ella Spear won the 400 meters and was 2nd in the 200 meters. The Central girls won the 4x800 meter relay. Central's Madisyn Baillie won the high jump. NC's Mackenzie Bradach and Central's Katie Thomson went 1-2 in the long jump. Bradach took 2nd in the triple jump. Alesha Lane from NC swept the shot and discus.

NC's Kaiden Lee had the only boys' victory for Wyoming teams in the high jump. He was 2nd in the triple jump.
