Wyoming High School Indoor Track Results: Feb. 7-8, 2020

The fourth week of the indoor track and field season brings teams to the halfway point.

The state championships in Gillette are just one month away.

Casper is the site for this weekend’s in-state competition. On Saturday, Natrona County hosts its NC Mustangs-Fillies Indoor Invite for 2020. There are a pair of out-of-state competitions that feature some Wyoming high school student-athletes competing.

Tuesday, Feb. 4:

Utah Distance Challenge (at Olympic Oval in Kearns, UT) – Mountain View (moved up due to the weather)

Mountain View's Elena Jensen finished 4th in the Girls 1600 meters.

Friday, Feb. 7:

Mountain States Games (at Holt Arena in Pocatello, ID), 4:45 p.m. – Evanston, Star Valley

Payton Vernon - wins shot put at 50-5.50.

Evanston girls win 4x400 meter relay.

Star Valley's Emily Gertsch win the weight throw with a toss of 40-feet.

Saturday, Feb. 8:

NC Mustangs-Fillies Indoor Invite 2020 (at Natrona MAC in Casper), 10 a.m. – Big Horn, Campbell County Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Cody, Douglas, Green River, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Lovell, Natrona County, Rawlins, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Tongue River, Western Heritage Lutheran Academy, Worland

- Not all teams attended due to road conditions around the state

Caydince Groth of Cheyenne South wins the 200 & 400 meters.

Sydney Thorvaldson of Rawlins wins the 1600 & 3200 meters.

Grace Shaffer of Cody wins the 55-meter hurdles and pole vault.
