Wyoming High School Cross Country Scoreboard: Aug. 25-27, 2022
It’s time for the 2022 high school cross country season in the Cowboy State. The season's debut is this weekend.
The first race is in Newcastle on Thursday. Casper Mountain and Green River will also host events this weekend.
Some teams are going to cross-country races out of state.
This is the Week 1 schedule for cross country. All schedules are subject to change.
Thursday, Aug. 25:
Newcastle Invite at Newcastle Country Club – Glenrock, Hulett, Moorcroft, Sundance, Torrington, Wheatland
Abby Palus of Hulett and Ayden Loya from Torrington won the individual titles. Torrington swept the team crowns.
Friday, Aug. 26:
Green River XC Meet – Green River, Rock Springs, Manila (UT)
Aubrielle Maes of Rock Springs won the girls' race at 23:01.76. Ethan Sholey of Rock Springs won the boys' race at 18:26.81.
KW Beartrap Cross Country Invitational at Beartrap Meadow on Casper Mountain – Big Horn, Buffalo, Campbell County, Cheyenne South, Douglas, Glenrock, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Laramie, Moorcroft, Natrona County, Pine Bluffs/Burns, Rawlins, Riverton, Saratoga/Encampment, St. Stephens, Thunder Basin, Wind River, Wright, Wyoming Indian
Ryann Smith from Rawlins won the girls' race in 20:46.65. Kaden Chatfield of Riverton took 1st in the boys' race at 17:08.95. Natrona County won the girls' division, and Laramie took the boys' division.
Out-of-State Events:
Billings (MT) Invitational at Amend Park – Cody, Lovell, Powell, Rocky Mountain, Sheridan, Thermopolis, Tongue River, Worland
Sheridan won the boys' division with 79 points. Daniel Merritt of Powell was 2nd, and Austin Akers from Sheridan placed 3rd.
Taylen Stinson from Cody placed 2nd in the girls' division. Cody took 2nd place in the team standings.
Idaho Falls Night at the Races at Community Park in Idaho Falls, ID – Jackson
Jackson's Colby Jenks finished in 8th place for the boys' division, while Madison Antonino took 4th in the girls' division.
Madison Dash in Rexburg, ID – Star Valley
Star Valley took 2nd in both the Jr-Sr division. The SV boys won the Frosh-Soph division. Peter Lorch was second and Elsie Pieper took third to lead the Braves, individually.

2022 Digger Homecoming Invite at Jordan HS in Sandy, UT – Evanston
Horizon Invite in Thornton, CO – Cheyenne Central
Central's Sydney Morrell won the girls' race at 18:22.7. Bridger Brokaw was second, while Trevor Schmidt placed third in the boys' division. Central swept the team titles.
John Martin XC Invite in Fort Collins, CO – Cheyenne East
Wasatch Rendezvous at Cottonwood Complex in Holladay, UT – Mountain View
