It was a bit blustery for the 4A Girls East Regional track meet on Saturday but that didn't stop anybody. In the sprint races, Laramie's Emmy Johnson continued her solid season with a win in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.59. She is the defending 4A state champion in the 100 and looked sharp in the 200 in that regional meet with a victory in 25.96. Thunder Basin's Kezley Yeager was the winner of the 400 meter dash with a clocking of 1.00.24. Another reigning state champion is Abigail Whitman from Laramie and she won the 800 meter run with a time of 2.18.11. Whitman also took the tape in the 3200 with a time of 11.33.06. The ultra talented Claudia Miller from Cheyenne Central ran 5/15.67 to take the 1600 meters. Over in the hurdle events, Emmy Johnson posted another win by taking the 300 in 46.14. Her teammate, Taylor Gardner ran 15.91 to win the 100 hurdles. Laramie also won the 4x100 meter relay with Thunder Basin winning the 4x400 and the 4x800, Cheyenne East placed first in the 1600 medley. In the high jump, Addy Turner of Cheyenne East cleared 5-4 to grab the podium with Laramie's Aubry Sanchez cleared 11-6 to win the pole vault. The long jump winner was Jenna Goodrich of Cheyenne central with a leap of 17 feet even. Breonna Beckley of Natrona won the triple jump going 36-3.5. Sheridan super thrower Jordan Christensen won the shot with a throw of 41-7.5 and the discus at 132-5. In the team standings for the 4A Girls East Regional, Laramie took 1st with 135 points, Cheyenne Central 2nd with 120.5 and Thunder Basin 3rd with 113.
