Veterans Encouraged To Attend Meeting In Laramie
The VA Denver Regional Office is hosting a meeting in Laramie on November 20 for discussion on the latest VA programs. Veterans, their families, and survivors along with all members of the public are invited to attend the town hall discussion at the Albany County Public Library, located at 310 W. Eighth Street, from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
The discussion allows Veterans to provide their own feedback on benefits and services provided by the VA.
This town hall discussion is one of many being held nationwide. New VA Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald announced the town hall meetings to improve communications with, and hear directly from, Veterans nationwide. He says this is as an important step toward improving the delivery of benefits and services and rebuilding trust among those the VA serves.
The Denver Regional Office has jurisdiction over Colorado and Wyoming, and is one of 56 around the country which provides a wide array of financial benefits to eligible Veterans and their families.
All VA medical care facilities around the country are hosting similar events. For Veterans who have questions about medical issues, the Cheyenne VA Medical Center will be participating in the event as well, and will be available for questions.
VA welcomes frank and open discussion of Veterans’ concerns in all VA program areas.
“This is our opportunity to go out there and actually listen to our veterans in each of the communities that we serve,” says Public Affairs Officer Samuel House.
Following the meeting, regional office officials will brief VA’s leaders on the input received and suggestions for improvements.
Claims representatives will be on hand to assist Veterans with questions or issues related to their individual claims. VA representatives will also be available to assist Veterans in enrolling in eBenefits.
