On Thursday, October 25, the four individuals campaigning to be Wyoming's next governor will gather in Laramie for a debate.

The debate will start at 5:15 p.m. and is expected to last until 6:45 p.m. at the A&S Auditorium. Attendees of the debate are invited to head to the College of Business afterwards and watch the televised Senate debate taking place in Casper between Senate candidates John Barasso and Gary Trauner.

Joel Funk will moderate the Laramie debate, with Bob Beck and Alex Mulhall asking the questions.

Mark Gordon is the Republican candidate on this year's ticket. He currently serves as State Treasurer. Gordon was initially named State Treasurer in 2012 after the death of Joe Meyer. He then proceeded to win 88% of the vote in the 2014 Republican primary, going on to win an uncontested race in the 2014 general. He grew up in Johnson County and currently lives with his wife, Jennie, on a ranch near Buffalo.

On the Democratic ticket is Mary Throne, who grew up in a ranch in Campbell County. Throne earned a bachelor's degree in history from Princeton University, furthering her education with a law degree from Columbia Law School. Throne currently works as an attorney in Cheyenne, and has served as an assistant Wyoming attorney general in addtion to serving a decade in the Wyoming legislature.

Rex Rammell is running with the Constitution Party. A licensed veterinarian, Rammell moved to the Wyoming from Idaho back in 2012. He also ran against Liz Cheney for the Wyoming seat in the House of Representatives in 2016 and has written a book titled A Nation Divided: The War for America's Soul. Ramell also owns Sweetwater Stables in Rock Springs with Lynda, his wife of 35 years.

Laramie candidate Lawrence Struempf is the Libertarian candidate for governor. Struempf lives in Laramie with his wife and four children, currently working as a Computer Information Systems instructor at Laramie County Community College's Albany County campus. Struempf grew up in Fremont County, eventually earning a doctorate in Instructional Technology from the University of Wyoming.
