Laramie Jackalope Jump Raises over $7,000 for Special Olympics WY

Crazy costumes, cold weather, and one great cause. The Jackalope Jump happened in Laramie on Saturday, February 23rd with a huge turn out of both people and support. The Special Olympics Wyoming put together Jackalope Jumps across the Cowboy State to help fund the athletes competing in the Special Olympics.

On Saturday at the Albany County Fairgrounds, over 72 jumpers braved the cold weather to jump into icy cold water to support the Wyoming Special Olympics, but there were also vendors of all kinds there supporting the cause as well and a raffle to give away prizes for those who helped the cause.

"Along with using athletics as a platform for our athletes to be included, events like this are really about inclusion and the inclusion revolution is what the Special Olympics is all about." said Vice President of Development for Special Olympics Wyoming, Melissa Noah. "It's part of our mission, to help connect people and that's what events like this do."
