Residents and visitors from all corners of Laramie gathered downtown for one of Laramie's favorite holiday traditions: the lighting of the city's Christmas tree in the First Street Plaza and the subsequent parade.

This year's parade theme was "Elf on a Shelf", and featured groups. Prior to the start of the parade, those who gathered downtown were treated to Christmas carols, popcorn and hot chocolate, and a showing of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" in the First Street Plaza.

Parade winners include:

Best Use of Theme--Whiting High School

Best Lights--Carbon Power and Light

Overall Winner--Kiwanis Santa Float

Laramie Main Street also gave special mentions to Linford Elementary School for their reindeer, to the Freezing Unicyclist for best entertainment, and to the Girl and Boy Scouts and Laramie Girls Softball for their Christmas spirit.

What was your favorite parade float this year?
