WyoTech-Laramie selected Lionel Reese as the school’s 2012 campus Dream Award winner. He is a recent graduate from the automotive technician program with an emphasis on applied service management. The award recognizes graduates who have overcome extraordinary obstacles to complete their post-secondary education and find success in their chosen fields.

Laramie’s own Holly Kennedy will be kicking off her year as Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2013 with a Coronation Ball on October 20th at WyoTech’s West Laramie Campus. The event will include dinner, dancing, a silent auction and a live auction to help Kennedy raise funds for her year as Wyoming rodeo royalty.

Driver Who Injured Wyoming Student in Crosswalk Pleads Not Guilty
The driver who crashed into a University of Wyoming student standing in a crosswalk pleaded not guilty to all three charges against him on Tuesday. Timothy R. Lund, a 21-year-old Wyotech student, is charged with driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury, aggravated assault and misdemeanor wreckless driving.

Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie has announced that 22 employees have been laid off. WyoTech is a part of Corinthian Colleges Incorporated who owns and operates six campuses nationwide. The staff reduction now leaves WyoTech with 203 employees.

Like many others in the Laramie community, WyoTech was caught a little off guard when the Laramie River reached flood levels last summer, so this year they made sure they are well prepared. With the Laramie River currently above the flood stage of 5 feet, students at WyoTech are spending time before, in between and after classes filling sandbags.
