Police say it's unknown if the thefts are connected.

Students were chosen for the project based on art interest and aptitude.

While other industries at a state or local level may suffer at the behest of larger market forces, the appeal of a thriving local arts scene can weather the storm and provide much-needed tax dollars as other revenue streams shrink.

Laramie's Pop-Up Artwalk is funded in part by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council.The Laramie Main Street Alliance provides additional support.

An exhibit featuring work from the UW Lab School is on display.

The exhibits will run through May.

The event will help raise money for the SAFE Project and Laramie Civics Center programs.
