The plan to subdivide LaBonte Park and the surrounding city-owned lots is among the topics to be discussed at a hearing for the Planning Commission on Monday, September 8 at 4:30 p.m. The hearing is open to the public and will take place at the City Council Chambers at City Hall located at 406 Ivinson Street.

The subdivision, called the Lakefront Subdivision, includes the re-platting of LaBonte Park and the city-owned lots along 4th Street.  The Lakefront Subdivision has many residents in Laramie concerned for the future of the park.

According to a staff report on the Lakefront Subdivision, the goal is to ready the land for future redevelopment, excluding the park land. It further states this is for the preparation in the event of an off-site Public Works Building, the design of which is funded for fiscal year 2015 and construction is anticipated for fiscal year 2016.
