Pokes head to Nebraska for back-to-back meet days

LARAMIE -- The University of Wyoming Track & Field Team will head to the University of Nebraska to compete in two full days of Indoor competition beginning on Friday January 21st with the Prairie Wolf Invitational and followed up by the Mark Colligan Memorial on Saturday.
The Prairie Wolf Invitational is hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University but hosted at Nebraska’s Devaney Center Indoor Track Complex while the Mark Colligan Memorial is hosted by Nebraska at the same venue.
After a month-long layoff for the Pokes this will be the second weekend in a row that they are competing and the third time this indoor season that the Cowboys and Cowgirls will be out there.
Friday’s meet will start at noon on Friday with the 5,000 women’s race and the women’s and men’s Weight Throw. The events on the track will wrap up at 5:25PM with the men’s 4x400 Relay while the field events will continue all day.
On Saturday, the Cowboys and Cowgirls will be joined by teams from Utah State, Kennesaw State, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Northern Colorado and the host school Nebraska.
The women will kick off the meet with the Weight Throw, Long Jump, and Pole Vault all slated for 11:30am while the Track events will start with the running of the 60M Hurdles at 12:15pm.
