Christina and Michelle Naughton are twins who graduated from the Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music. They both earned bachelor’s degrees at the Curtis Institute in 2011 and master’s degrees from Juilliard in 2013.
The sisters were born in Princeton, N.J., and began taking piano lessons from their mother at age 4. They each began practicing and performing individually, and performed together for the first time when they were 18 at the request of a concert presenter.
In 2010, the Naughtons’ professional career took off with debuts at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and the Mann Center for Performing Arts with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
The sisters have since performed around the U.S. and internationally at a number of music festivals. Their first album, “Piano Duets,” was recorded in Bremen, Germany, at the Sendesaal. Some of their performances have been broadcast on Sirius XM Satellite Radio, American Public Media’s “Performance Today,” and on local stations in cities from New York to Hong Kong.
The Naughtons’ performance in Laramie is part of the UW Cultural Programs series, which concludes with the Soweto Gospel Choir Holiday Show on Dec. 6.
