Over 200 Cats Seized in Casper
The seizure of more than 200 cats over the weekend is putting a strain on the resources of Casper’s Metro Animal Control and Welfare Agency. While few details are yet available about where the seizure took place, Metro Manager Rick Sulzen said officials are still checking out the animals, and are overwhelmed by the sheer numbers.
You know we’re not set up to deal with that many animals, we’re doing the best that we can right now. We’ve had a huge outpour from the public, donating and letting us borrow the large dog kennels, the travel kennels.
Sulzen said the large kennels allow workers to house two-to-four cats comfortably, aiding them as they check the health of the animals. He said the specifics of where the animals came from won’t be made public until officials complete their investigation.
