New Survey: Wyoming Great Place to Have a Child
It costs more to have a baby in the United States than anywhere else in the world.
The cost of a normal birth averages nearly $10-thousand dollars here versus $3500 in France, and $2600 in Great Britain.
So, which of the states is the best for having a baby? Overall, it's Vermont, but Wyoming was sixth on the list compiled by Wallet-hub.com.
Wallet-hub uses several criteria for the list, not just the cost of the birth. 22 of them, in fact.
For example, Wyoming was 9th overall in cost for a conventional birth, 6th for a caesarean, 12th in the number of midwives, 12th in pediatric services, 29th in child mortality, and number one for low air pollution.
And the place you would least want to have a child? As you might have guessed, it is Alabama.
