Junior Camryn Nagy won her first career individual golf tournament last week at the Wheatland Golf Tournament.

Nagy fired a two-round total of 177 to win by six strokes. After an opening-round 91 last Thursday, the junior followed that with an 86 last Friday at the Wheatland Golf Club and earned medalist honors.

As a team, the Laramie girls finished in sixth place. They shot a team score of 737 over 36 holes. Cheyenne Central won the golf tournament by 101 strokes over Douglas with a 566 team total.

The Plainsmen placed three in the top nine and took third place in the boys’ division. Jackson McClaren and Titus Wookey came in sixth with two-round totals of 162. They were 17 strokes behind the medalist Ethan Cates of Cheyenne Central. Andrew Stannard placed ninth after he fired a 168 over 36 holes.

The Central boys won the team title with a 645 total. Cheyenne East was six strokes behind in second place. The Plainsmen came in third at 669 over the two days.

The Laramie High School golf teams head to Douglas for their second tournament of the fall season Thursday and Friday at the Douglas Community Club and Golf Course.
