Mosquito control sprays will take place along the Big Laramie River beginning July 7, weather permitting. Ron Blake, chairman of the Big Laramie Mosquito Control Corporation (BLMCC) announced the aerial application on Wednesday, June 25.

The spray area for the BLMCC encompasses areas along both sides of Highway 230 from about the five-mile marker to Woods Landing. This will include Pahlow Lane, the Harmony area, and irrigated meadows along the Laramie River.

Bee keepers are advised to cover their beehives during the times that planes are in the air. Anyone with concerns about the aerial application of malathion, which is the insect spray that will be used, should stay indoors while planes are spraying.

Questions about the control program may be directed to Ron Blake at 745-9521 or John Wetstein at 742-8734.
