WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (AP) — A memorial honoring three Boy Scouts killed in a crash in Wyoming has been removed from Woodland Park High School where they were students.

School officials tell the Associated Press the makeshift memorial made of wood covered with mementos violated school policy.

The scouts were returning from a Boy Scout camp near Yellowstone National Park on June 30 when they collided head-on with a motor home.

Sixteen-year-old Paul Kekich, 17-year-old Nick Naples, and 17-year-old Alex Ragan died in the crash near Thermopolis.
