The Laramie Police Department is reporting that on January 30, 2020, at about midnight, officers responded to the report of a disturbance in the 100 Block of South 6th Street.

As a result of the investigation, Erik M. Brantley, a 31-year-old male, was arrested and charged with Strangulation of a Household Member and Felonious Restraint. As of Friday, bond has not yet been set on the two felony charges, and Brantley remains incarcerated at the Albany County Detention Center.

Strangulation of a household member is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than ten years.

Felonious restraint is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than five years.

At this time, these charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
