Tuesday's Global Climate March began with a rally in the Alice Hardy Stevens Center at 5 p.m.  The event was held to spread awareness of climate change and what people in the Laramie community can do to make a difference.

Roughly 100 activists gathered to hear several guest speakers including University of Wyoming Anthropology Professor Sarah Strauss and Department of Geography Chair WIlliam Gribb.

Strauss addressed the history of worldwide action on climate change and the events that lead to the 2015 Paris Climate Conference.  Gribb discussed actions that local government and community members can take to lessen their negative impact on the environment, such as walking or biking instead of driving.
