Following a tough opening round match, the Laramie Lady Plainsmen bounced back to bring home the consolation trophy from state soccer last weekend in Jackson.

Laramie won its final two matches and earned hardware Saturday afternoon with an overtime victory over a rival.

The Lady Plainsmen suffered a setback in the opening round, 4-1, to Kelly Walsh, but rallied with a win in their final two matches of the season.

LHS topped Star Valley in the first-ever meeting between the two programs in girls’ soccer. Laramie got a goal in each half for a 2-0 victory. The goals came from Raegan Kautzman and Jayla Wulff. That pushed them onto day three of the championships.

The Lady Plainsmen faced rival Cheyenne East for a fourth time this season. An overtime goal by Helisa Watson off a feed from Wulff was the lone tally in a 1-0 victory.

Laramie celebrated the consolation championship trophy from state soccer 2019. This continues a string of Lady Plainsmen soccer winning hardware at state soccer from 2006-to-present.

LHS concluded 2019 with a 10-9 overall record.
