UNDATED (AP) — The scene is set for the World Cup final as Germany will face Argentina. The Argentinians advanced with a win Wednesday over the Netherlands. The two sides played 120 minutes of scoreless soccer before Argentina connected on all four of its shots in the shootout.

The championship match will be played on Sunday while the third-place match, featuring host Brazil against the Dutch, is set for Saturday.

The Dutch coach has called the third-place match meaningless, saying "this match should never be played."

 

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — FIFA (FEE'-fuh), the governing body of soccer, has rejected Luis Suarez's appeal against his four-month ban for biting an opponent in a World Cup match. The Uruguayan can appeal the veridic to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Suarez was banned from all soccer matches and fined over $100,000 for biting the shoulder of an Italian player. This is the third time Suarez has been banned for biting an opponent.
