UNDATED (AP) — The Phoenix Coyotes entered Monday's NHL action having allowed a league-high 20 goals in five games before a recent call-up gave them their first shutout of the season.

Chad Johnson handled 22 shots and the Coyotes won for just the second time by blanking Nashville 4-0. Johnson was promoted from Portland of the AHL last week after Mike Smith was hurt.

Keith Yandle had a power-play goal and two assists for Phoenix.

Elsewhere on ice, David Krejci (KRAY'-chee) scored the tiebreaking goal with 1:50 to play, giving the Boston Bruins a 5-3 victory over the Hurricanes. Zdeno Chara (zuh-DAY'-noh CHAH'-rah) had a goal and two assists for the Bruins, who blew a two-goal lead in the second period before improving to an Eastern Conference-leading 4-0-1.

Edmonton scored four power-play goals and Devan Dubnyk (DOOB'-nyihk) made 37 saves as Edmonton beat Colorado 4-1. The Oilers took control on goals by Ales Hemsky (AL'-ehsh HEM'-skee) and Jordan Eberle (EB'-ur-lee) 2:42 apart late in the first period.

Vinny Prospal scored the go-ahead goal 82 seconds into the third period to push Columbus past Dallas 2-1. Sergei Bobrovsky (boh-BRAHF'-skee) turned back 24 shots and was perfect after Philip Larsen scored on a power play early in the second period.

Jeff Carter scored in the second period before providing the lone shootout goal in the Los Angeles Kings' 3-2 verdict over Vancouver. Jonathan Quick made four of his 21 saves in overtime before stopping three more in the shootout.

MONTREAL (AP) — The Montreal Canadiens have re-signed defenseman P.K. Subban (soo-BAN') to a two-year deal, about two weeks later than they had hoped.

Subban did not attend training camp and missed the first four games of the regular season while negotiating with the Habs.

He had seven goals and 36 points in 81 games for the Canadiens last season, leading the club in average ice time and finishing seventh among NHL defensemen with 205 shots on goal.
