Redshirt junior forward Leonard Washington has been suspended indefinitely from the University of Wyoming men's basketball team. Head Coach Larry Shyatt made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.

“We have certain expectations and standards that members of our program must meet,” Shyatt said. “At this time, Leonard has not met those expectations and standards.”

The University said there would be no more comments on the big loss for the Cowboys.

A Second Team All-Mountain West selection, Washington averaged 12.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 32 starts for the Cowboys last season. He ranked in the Top 10 of six MW statistical categories, including leading the conference in blocks (1.0) and field goal percentage (56.0). He scored in double figures in 22 games and notched six double-doubles.
