David Settle
A native of Fort Collins, Colorado, David Settle earned a degree in Broadcasting from the University of Wyoming in 1998. He originally joined KOWB/KCGY in June of 1998 as a board operator. He was named the full-time Sports Director in July of 1999. In July of 2009, he added the title of Operations Manager to his responsibilities. He has also worked as an intern for Wyoming Public Radio and KIIX radio in Fort Collins. As the Sports Director, he is in charge of covering all aspects of the local sports scene. He broadcasts five sportscasts every weekday, coordinates all sports programming for KOWB/KCGY, is a co-host of Sportsline Live three days a week, the primary host of Cowboy Talk and the “Voice of” the Laramie Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen, as well as the Laramie Rangers. In 2007, 2008 and 2010, he won the award for “Best Play-by-Play” from the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters. As Operations Manager, he oversees the day-to-day functions of both KOWB and KCGY. David is happily married. He and his wife Sara, have two daughters, Mikaela and Paige.

Wyoming Survives First Round of CBI, Beat Bison 78-75
Behind 22 points and 11 rebounds from Leonard Washington, the Wyoming Cowboys beat the North Dakota State Bison 78-75 in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Wednesday night at the Arena-Auditorium. It was UW's first post-season win since an NIT victory over Eastern Washington on March 20, 2003.
Cowboys Battle But Fall to Aztecs
Three of the last four visits to San Diego by the Wyoming Cowboys were anything but pretty. Wednesday night the Pokes showed their resiliency, as they battled the 24th-ranked Aztecs to overtime. Unfortunately, San Diego State blitzed the Pokes in the extra period, as they out-scored Wyoming 12-3 and pulled away for 67-58 victory.
Cowgirls Can’t Stop Clements, Lose to San Diego State
Courtney Clements was a 1-woman wrecking crew at times Tuesday night in the Arena-Auditorium. She matched her season-high with 25 points and helped San Diego State clinch at least a share of the Mountain West regular-season title with the win over the Wyoming Cowgirls 68-55. It was the Aztecs first win in Laramie since 1997.
Cowboys Collapse in Border War Loss to Rams
The offense simply disappeared. The Wyoming Cowboys blew a 7-point halftime lead at Colorado State and lost 54-46 to the Rams Saturday night in Fort Collins. The Pokes shot just 24 percent from the field in the second half and managed only two field goals over the last 14 minutes of the game.
