David Settle

A native of Fort Collins, Colorado, David Settle earned a degree in Broadcasting from the University of Wyoming in 1998.  He originally joined KOWB/KCGY in June of 1998 as a board operator.  He was named the full-time Sports Director in July of 1999.  In July of 2009, he added the title of Operations Manager to his responsibilities.  He has also worked as an intern for Wyoming Public Radio and KIIX radio in Fort Collins.  As the Sports Director, he is in charge of covering all aspects of the local sports scene.  He broadcasts five sportscasts every weekday, coordinates all sports programming for KOWB/KCGY, is a co-host of Sportsline Live three days a week, the primary host of Cowboy Talk and the “Voice of” the Laramie Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen, as well as the Laramie Rangers.  In 2007, 2008 and 2010, he won the award for “Best Play-by-Play” from the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters.  As Operations Manager, he oversees the day-to-day functions of both KOWB and KCGY.  David is happily married.  He and his wife Sara, have two daughters, Mikaela and Paige.

One Goal in Mind for Both Laramie High School Soccer Teams

It may be a new venue, but it's the same outlook for both the #1 Laramie Lady Plainsmen and the #2 Laramie Plainsmen, as they take part in the 2013 Wyoming State Soccer Championships in Rock Springs tomorrow through Saturday. Both teams are expected to contend for state titles this weekend.

Bruce Schmidt Ready for New AD Role

Laramie High School officially has its' new AD. Bruce Schmidt was formally approved for the post at Wednesday night's Albany County School District School Board meeting. The veteran teacher and coach will step into a new position that's designed to focus more on the athletics and activities at LHS, and he's already looking ahead.

Laramie Rangers Baseball Makes 2013 Debut

It's a brand new season for the Laramie Rangers American Legion Baseball program, as they get started with four games in Casper this Mother's Day weekend. The Rangers will face Cheyenne, two Casper teams and Jackson in action at Mike Lansing Field.

Chuck Syverson Will be the New Laramie Plainsmen Football Coach

KOWB has learned through sources that Chuck Syverson was offered and has accepted the position as the new head coach of the Laramie Plainsmen football team. He becomes the school's fifth coach in the last 11 years.
