Cowboy Basketball To Play Exhibition Game In Ethete
The University of Wyoming men’s basketball team will begin the 2012-13 season by hosting Fort Lewis College for an exhibition game at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31 in Ethete, Wyo. A collaboration between the Cowboys and the Nike N7 program, the contest will be played at the Wyoming Indian High School on the Wind River Reservation.
Shyatt Inks One Year Extension With The University Of Wyoming
University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman announced on Thursday that the contract of head men’s basketball coach Larry Shyatt has been extended through the 2016-17 season.
Shyatt signed his original contract with the Cowboys on March 31, 2011. His initial contract was for five years with a base salary of $190,000 per year and included incentives for up to $645,000 per year.
Shyatt Completes 2012 Recruiting Class for Cowboy Basketball
Cowboy basketball coach Larry Shyatt finished off the 2012-13 recruiting class on Wednesday when Derek Cooke signed a National Letter of Intent to play at the University of Wyoming. The 6'9" forward will transfer to UW from Cloud County Community College and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

On the first day of the spring signing period, Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt announced that Nathan Sobey has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Cowboy basketball. The 6-3 guard has been a standout at Cochise College the past two seasons and becomes the second native Australian to play for the Pokes.

Cowboy Basketball Begins With A Night of Madness This Friday [AUDIO]
Larry Shyatt's second tenure as the head coach of the University of Wyoming men's basketball team will launch with A Night of Madness at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, in the Arena-Auditorium.
More than just a kickoff for Cowboy basketball, the night will include the Homecoming Sing, introduction of players by Dick Vitale, special guest appearances by Jeff Van Gundy and Joakim Noah, UW football, volleyball and Cowgirl basketball players, the Western Thunder Marching Band, the UW Spirit Squad and Pistol Pete. Friday Night Fever will close the night with hypnotist Chris Jones.
