Senior Hillary Carlson and Aubrey Vandiver led the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team to a 63-43 win over the Washington State Cougars in Laramie on Saturday. Wyoming (7-3) broke down the Washington State (2-9) zone with plenty of 15-foot jump shots from Carlson, who accumulated 20 points in the first half.

"When we were able to get Hil going that just opened things up a lot for us and we had multiple people scoring so it makes it a lot easier and a lot more fun when everyone's involved." -Aubrey Vandiver

After a tough overtime loss to Wisconsin, Wyoming showed no signs of an emotional hangover, which was something Head Coach Joe Legerski was concerned about.  He talked to the team about the importance of playing hard every game.

"The same grit, determination, execution, for 40 minutes was there and as a coach that's what I'm happy about." -Head Coach Joe Legerski

Wyoming had a 37-23 lead at halftime and never let the Cougars get closer than 11 points.

Carlson finished the game with 25 points and 9 rebounds while Vandiver made 18 points and 11 rebounds. Together Carlson and Vandiver totaled 43 points, which is how many points the Cougars scored as a team and on the season, Vandiver is now averaging a double-double with 16.8 ppg and 10.0 rpg.
