A compelling lineup of speakers will be featured at the third annual Wyoming Safety and Workforce Summit on June 24-25 at the Little America Hotel and Resort in Cheyenne.

The summit is a tool for business owners and managers, human resource managers, workforce development specialists, training providers, administrators at all levels and workers looking to improve their safety skills and overall on-the-job performance.

The June 24 keynote will be offered by Kevin Edwards Cahill of the Deming Institute. Cahill’s grandfather was Dr. W. Edwards Deming, a business visionary of the 20th century. Cahill will showcase Dr. Deming’s vision and discuss renewed interest in the Deming management model and what it might mean for business, government and education as well as for individuals.

Keynote Bruce S. Wilkinson will highlight how companies and workers can make safety a personal value and not just a priority. Wilkinson will demonstrate on June 24 how to develop a climate for effective leadership, teamwork and a safe working environment.

The personal accountability revolution will be discussed by keynote speaker Wendy Samson on June 25. Samson’s presentation will help equip workplace leaders with tools that will ignite the focus and fusion of personal and organizational accountability.

The final keynote address will be given by University of Wyoming men’s head basketball coach Larry Shyatt, who will talk about the importance of team – on and off the court. Shyatt took the Cowboys to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 13 years and guided UW to its first Associated Press Top 25 ranking since 1988.

The June 24 evening banquet will recognize Wyoming employers who have demonstrated a strong safety culture and excellence in safety and health programs. Recognition will also go to Wyoming employers and individuals who have made exceptional contributions to improving the skills and abilities of Wyoming’s workers.
