Wyoming Library Officials Approve $15K in Employee Raises
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Officials have approved about $15,000 in raises for employees of a library in southeastern Wyoming.
The board of the Albany County Public Library voted last week to institute the raises Friday.
Library director Ruth Troyanek urged the board to not enact the raises until July, saying the changes would create a funding deficit.
She told the board that the raises would likely create a more than $9,000 deficit in the library's personnel line item by the 2023 fiscal year.
Board chairman Mike Massie pushed forward the raises, saying more funding could be available in coming years.
Massie says library employees have not received a raise since 2015.
