Wyoming High School Golf Scoreboard: Sept. 8-10, 2022
The high school golf season around Wyoming is winding down.
Class 3A and 4A schools have their state qualifying events this weekend, while 2A teams will play one more regular season event. The qualifiers are key because only the top four teams and top 20 individuals advance to next week's state championships.
The fifth week has teams in Casper, Lander, Lusk, Sheridan, and Worland.
Here is the Week 5 schedule. All schedules are subject to change.
Thursday, Sept. 8:
3A East Qualifier – at Green Hills G.C. in Worland – Buffalo, Douglas, Rawlins, Riverton, Torrington, Wheatland, Worland
Lily Nichols of Wheatland and Parker Paxton from Riverton lead the fields after the first day. The Wheatland girls and Riverton boys are atop the team standings.
3A West Qualifier – at Lander G.C. – Cody, Evanston, Green River, Lander, Lovell, Lyman, Pinedale, Powell
Lovell's Erika Cook leads by 1 shot, and Lander's Owen Sweeney leads by 3 shots after the first round.

4A East Qualifier – at Kendrick G.C. in Sheridan – Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Sheridan, Thunder Basin
Sheridan's Samantha Spielman (69) and East's Nash Coleman (76) have the lead after Day 1. Their teams also lead in the standings.
4A West Qualifier – at 3 Crowns G.C. in Casper – Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Rock Springs, Star Valley
Haily Kalus of KW and PJ Horsley of Star Valley has the lead after the first day. KW leads both team races.
Friday, Sept. 9:
3A East Qualifier – at Green Hills G.C. in Worland – Buffalo, Douglas, Rawlins, Riverton, Torrington, Wheatland, Worland
Riverton's Parker Paxton won by 24 shots, and Lily Nichols of Wheatland won by 12 shots. The Wheatland girls and Riverton boys rolled to 1st place in the team races.
3A West Qualifier – at Lander G.C. – Cody, Evanston, Green River, Lander, Lovell, Lyman, Pinedale, Powell
Lovell's Erika Cook pulled away for a 9-shot win. Evanston's girls won the team crown. Owen Sweeney of Lander won on his home course and helped the Tigers win the team title.
4A East Qualifier – at Kendrick G.C. in Sheridan – Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Sheridan, Thunder Basin
Sheridan's Samantha Spielman won the girls' division by 19 shots. Sheridan's Brock Owings and East's Nash Coleman tied for first in the boys' division. The Sheridan girls and East boys took 1st place in the team standings.
4A West Qualifier – at Municipal G.C. in Casper – Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Rock Springs, Star Valley
Due to the weather, Friday's round was canceled. Final results came from Day 1 only on Thursday. Brandon Schafer of KW was voted the boys and girls conference coach of the year. That means Haily Kalus of KW and PJ Horsley from Star Valley finished first. Both KW teams win the title.
Tiger Invitational – at Niobrara C.C. – Big Horn, Glenrock, Lusk, Moorcroft, Sundance, Tongue River, Upton, Wright
Upton sweeps in Niobrara County. Materi and Timberman were the medalists, and the Bobcats won both team titles.
