Wyoming Attorney General Peter Michael has a big bet riding on the Pokes to beat New Mexico State this weekend. After he was called out on Twitter by New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas, Michael upped the ante, wagering red chili against green chile.

If the Cowboys win, Balderas must send a box of Hatch green chile to Wyoming. If the Aggies win, Michael will ship a case of Chugwater Chili to the Land of Enchantment.

"If by some miracle the Aggies prevail, you will be pleased, and I think delighted, to enjoy some of Wyoming's finest hand-crafted chocolates and Chugwater Chili. Yes, there is a town in Wyoming called Chugwater," Michael said in response to the challenge.

The Cowboys are 3 1/2-point favorites for the season opener Saturday night. Both teams are coming off winning seasons. Wyoming went 8-5 in 2017, capping the season with a victory in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. New Mexico State finished 7-6 with a win in the Arizona Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN2.
