The Cheyenne Central girls picked up an enormous win the 1600 meter run by Claudia Miller to prevail as the 4A state champs for the 2nd straight year. Miller, who has signed with Cal-Poly won the 1 mile in 5.10.11 and also won the 3200 meters on Thursday and placed 3rd in the 800. Her 26 points paced the Indians to 90 overall, 5 better than 2nd place Laramie with Rock Springs taking 3rd with 69. On the track on Saturday, Kelly Walsh's Taylor Rowe won both the 100 and 200 meter dashes. The junior ran 12.67 in the 100 and 25.98 in the 200. A year ago, Rowe took 4th in the 100 and 2nd in the 200. This year's 400 meter winner was Janae Rameriz of Rock Springs with a winning time of 59.39. She was one of two competitors to break the 1 minute mark in that event. Over in the hurdles, Naya Shime of Riverton ran 15.58 to win the 100 and that earned her best of the best status in that event. In the 300, that was won by Laramie Emmy Johnson in 45.71.
