A Wyoming Highway Patrol K-9 assisted in the seizure of just under three pounds of marijuana Sunday.

According to an official release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the discovery of the marijuana was made when a Sheridan man was pulled over approximately 2 miles south of Casper for speeding.  The release says that the Trooper could smell marijuana in the vehicle, and a drug sniffing dog was deployed.

The dog alerted to a box in the car that contained what Troopers are describing as "a food saver type machine that seals plastic bags."  Nearby, Troopers discovered a duffle bag containing high-grade marijuana in sealed plastic baggies.  The street value of the pot is estimated at $15,600.

The driver has been identified as 22-year-old Edwin Jacobs of the Sheridan area.  Jacobs faces felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.  Wyoming Highway Patrol officials say that the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting with the case.

Agents and Troopers believe the marijuana to have originated in the state of Colorado.
