Question:

Why was the Big D truck stop allowed to build in West Laramie from a traffic safety or zoning standpoint? It has created several traffic hazards with the commercial truck traffic turning left onto Snowy Range Road without the aid of a traffic light.

Answer:

"The property is zoned B2 (Business) District, which allows for fueling centers, travel centers, restaurants, and a variety of other commercial uses. The city required developer to work with WYDOT during site design regarding access to Snowy Range Road and potential traffic associated with the reconstruction of the previous Sinclair Travel Center. Although no new pumps were added to the facility, WYDOT did require a reduction in curb cuts to Snowy Range Road from four to two. The city required the removal of a continuous curb cut on Adams Street and several other curb cuts on Adams and Taylor streets to direct traffic movement."

Ask the City Of Laramie is your chance to send the city that burning question that you have always wondered about such as: “How can I get a city parking permit?” or “Why did my water usage rates go through the roof?”

Please note that the City of Laramie will answer as many questions as possible at their discretion.
