The University of Wyoming will be hosting a number of conversation sessions with UW’s new Chief Diversity Officer, Emily Monago.

The university says UW’s Office of Diversity, Equity and inclusion will host “Conversations with the Chief Diversity Officer,” to allow members of the UW and Laramie communities to share their thoughts and discuss how to advance diversity and inclusion on the university campus.

The conversations are divided up by specific constituent groups and are scheduled as such:

  • UW students – Thursday, Oct 12, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Classroom Building, Room 222.
  • UW staff –Wednesday, Oct. 18, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Family Room.
  • UW faculty- Wednesday, Oct. 25, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Wyoming Union West Ballroom.
  • Laramie community- Thursday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 7 p.m., in Coe Library, room 506.

Monago was appointed to the position of chief diversity officer in May during the Board of Trustee’s monthly meeting. As part of her duties, Monago is responsible for leading the university’s diversification efforts and reports directly to UW President Laurie Nichols.
