One of Laramie’s annual traditions during the Christmas season is upon us. The University of Wyoming Art Museum hosts events Thursday and Saturday.

The ‘Lighting of the Trees’ is Thursday from 6-to-8 p.m. That’s followed by ‘Happy Holidays Laramie Festival of Trees’ Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.

University of Wyoming Art Museum Director Marianne Wardle visited with host David Settle during the “Laramie Live on KOWB” radio morning show Thursday. The Director pointed out what’s in store for this year, including more decorated trees, what their silent auction proceeds go towards, and a reminder of when Santa will be there Saturday in the video above.

Wardle is excited to be a part of a tradition that’s in its 26th year for her first time.

The UW Art Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. with extended hours on Thursdays until 7 p.m. They are closed Sunday and Monday. For more information visit www.uwyo.edu/artmuseum/ or call 307-766-6622.
