The National Weather Service issued a Flood Warning for the Laramie River in Laramie Sunday morning.

It is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday.

Here's the latest update from the National Weather Service:

The latest stage is 7.9 feet at 7 PM Sunday. Minor flooding is forecasted, with a maximum stage of 8.0 feet, which is equal to the flood stage. The river will rise above the flood stage of 8.0 feet at 12 PM Monday. The river will fall below flood stage at 12 PM Friday. Impact at 8.0 feet Flood stage includes access to Chimney Lamp Road Bridge may become impossible. Water begins encroaching the greenway at the intersection of Park and Spruce Streets. Houses next to the greenway along the right river bank may have water over low lying areas.

As for recent flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 8.8 feet on June 14, 2015.

High water along the Laramie River forced the City of Laramie to close portions of the Greenbelt Trail last Friday.
