Intrinsically connected with summertime, Memorial Day and Independence Day are holidays away from work, to enjoy parades, fireworks and barbecues. Additionally, they are both holidays richly rooted in American culture, days to practice patriotic pride and wave the American flag.

It’s fiesta time at the Lincoln Community Center where they are hosting a Cinco de Mayo celebration this Saturday. It will be quite a party with a car show, dinner, music and dancing.

Most years, March would have begun a day ago. This year however, leap year set it back, so after an additional 24 hours, we are now in the glorious month of madness, solstice and clovers.
