A pair of senior runners shined brightly for the Laramie Plainsmen at last weekend’s state track championships in Casper.

Day one of state track was very successful one for Laramie Plainsmen with a pair of victories and a lead in the team standings.

Senior Albert Steiner and sophomore Emmy Johnson were both part of four wins at the 4A East Regional Track and Field Championships last weekend in Cheyenne.

In its 33rd year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, announced Albert Steiner of Laramie High School as its 2017 Gatorade Wyoming Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.

For the sixth straight year the third Saturday in October belonged to the Laramie Plainsmen cross country team.
