Solid Rock Outdoor Ministries is gearing up for a spring fundraiser, and they already have some unique and interesting items for their silent auction. The silent auction will take place the evening of April 8, 2015. A location is yet to be determined.

Solid Rock Outdoor Ministries, or SROM, has been in Laramie for 32 years, although it is still a somewhat unknown group in the community. SROM is a Christian wilderness ministry that centers around bringing students to the Wyoming wilderness for 10-day, 20-day, and 40-day expeditions.

Deborah Flannery, Development Director for SROM, says the group has been working hard to gain items for the spring fundraiser/silent auction.

Flannery says an item of interest in will be a package of books from the authors and inspiration of Heaven Is For Real. The book tells the story of a young boy’s trip to heaven and back after an emergency surgery. The package includes four books and the DVD of Heaven Is For Real. Three of the four books will be signed, as will the DVD.

Flannery says another item of interest comes from all the way from Australia. Child prodigy Akiane is donating a signed print of her famous painting Prince of Peace. The signed print will be 16”X20”, a size she rarely signs. Bidding for this item will start at $1,000.

In addition to these items, the silent auction will include three signed prints from award winning local artist Robert Seabeck.

Anyone who would like to contribute to the silent auction may do so by calling SROM at 307-755-0642. As the event is still in the planning process, anyone who would like updates on silent auction items may call the same number to sign up for the email list. Anyone who calls in and provides a valid email address for the email list will be entered in a drawing for a Patagonia Nano-Air Hoody jacket.
