With the Mullen Fire causing evacuations to occur in southeastern Wyoming, the Snowy Range Ski area has been preparing ahead of time should the fire head that direction.

Though the fire itself is south of the area, they are constantly monitoring the situation and have spoken with the Fire Response Team about structure protection.
Right now, that fire is still well south of us, and we are hoping it stays that way.
They have placed snowmaking resources over the entire mountain that can run so that they are able to pump water on critical infrastructure if it comes to that.
Though they have also been removing dead trees for years, they are still preparing in case the fire comes their way.
Even with the fire, the Snowy Range Ski Area is preparing for the upcoming season, including getting a new motor for their main chairlift.
