Snowmobiler Dies in Northwestern Wyoming Avalanche

The man who died Monday has been identified as 27-year-old Dale Walter Clyde Laedtke of New London, Wisconsin.

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities say a snowmobiler has died after he was buried in an avalanche in northwestern Wyoming.

The man and three friends were snowmobiling on the north side of Togwotee Pass when the avalanche occurred Monday afternoon.

Authorities say the man was 27 but they didn't immediately release his name or hometown.

Witnesses told first responders the snowmobiler was buried for five minutes before they could start CPR.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene just before 5 p.m. Monday.

The site is about 50 miles northeast of Jackson.
