LARAMIE -- Let the games begin.

Well, this week's slate anyway.

Mountain West foes San Jose State and Fresno State already rolled in its opening-week tilts last Saturday with wins over Southern Utah and Connecticut, respectively.

This week, it's everyone else's turn.

Boise State (+6.5) and UCF are going toe to toe in Orlando as we speak (UCF won 36-31). Colorado State (-3) hosts South Dakota State Friday night at 7 p.m. inside Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins.

Yes, the Rams are just a three-point favorite -- for now.

We realize the New Mexico game is already completed. They knocked off Houston Baptist 27-17 tonight in Albuquerque. I promise you, we all had the Lobos in that one. UNLV fell in its first game inside Allegiant Stadium with fans in attendance. Eastern Washington held on for the 35-33 victory in double overtime.

All other Mountain West games will be played Saturday, including Wyoming (-17.5; O/U 110) playing host to Montana State at 2 p.m.

Here are the other games:

Fresno State (+20.5) at Oregon

Lafayette (Pa.) (+37.5) at Air Force

San Jose State (+14) at USC

Nevada (+3.5) at Cal

New Mexico State (+31.5) at San Diego State

Utah State (+17) at Washington State

Portland State at Hawaii (no line)

The rules here are simple: Who wins and what's the final score of the Wyoming game?

This year our regular weekly pickers will be: Jared Newland, Jen Kost, Kyle Sedar, Mat Ozee, DJ Johnson and myself. Each week we will have one guest and a former Wyoming football player join in on the fun.

Today, the Cowboys' all-time leading scorer, Cooper Rothe, shared his picks with us. The Longmont, Colo., native tallied 342 points during his four-year career as a placekicker in Laramie. He made a program-best 59 field goals, topping Sean Fleming.

Rothe is a generous guy. Back in 2019, he even tried to teach me how to put 'em through the uprights.

Keyword: tried.

Also joining us is big UW fan and Buffalo, Wyoming native, Ryan Newton, who is a teacher in the Houston area.

Without further ado ...
