Security First Bank in Laramie is once again hosting a Santa Tree event to provide gifts to local children for the holidays. The event is sponsored by Security First Bank, Townsquare Media of Laramie, and Salvation Army.

A Christmas tree has been erected at the bank, and the decorations are very special. The tree is adorned with envelopes, each containing information about a child in need. Information includes the child’s age, gender, likes, wants, and needs. Those who select an envelope can then purchase a gift for that child.

Susan Bulgrin, Security First Bank Branch Manager, says the bank has been provided information from the local Salvation Army for 50 children so far, but the bank hopes to provide gifts to even more children.

“It’s really a nice thing for folks that need a little help,” says Bulgrin. “And, you know, you just want to make sure those kids have a happy Christmas.”

Bulgrin adds that children participating in the event usually do not ask for spendy gift items.

“This is really modest. It’s mostly clothing or outdoor coats, boots, hats, gloves, and then a little toy or something,” she says.

Gifts should be wrapped and brought to back to the bank, located at 608 Grand Avenue, on or before December 18.

The gifts will be delivered to the children by the Salvation Army on December 19th and 20th, ensuring that each child has their gift by Christmas Day.
