Residents across the state of Wyoming who are customers of Rocky Mountain Power will be seeing a rate increase starting September 22nd. The 10% increase for the average residential user will average out to about 21 cents more a day.

The Wyoming Public Service Commission approved Rocky Mountain Powers rate increase request of $44.6 million. The original request submitted by Rocky Mountain Power was $97.9 million.  The new rate increases will take effect September 22 and will mean customers will now pay on average 21 cents more a day.

The initial $97.9 million dollars sought by the company was to much to ask for and dozens of local groups and businesses objected to the initial increase. The new increase of $44.6 million dollars was approved by the Public Service Commission's Consumer Advocate Division.

Rocky Mountain Power services approximately 134,000 customers statewide.
