Powell’s Sabrina Shoopman Signs with UW for Track
Powell Panther athlete Sabrina Shoopman will be staying in-state as she will run track at the University of Wyoming. In 2019 as a junior, Shoopman won the 3A state championship in the 300 hurdles with a time of 46.98. She placed 4th in the 100 hurdles at the state meet with a clocking of 16.81 and also placed 4th in the 400 meter dash in 1.02.32. Shoopman also ran on the Panthers 4x400 relay team that placed 4th in 3A.
In her sophomore year, Shoopman took 2nd at the 3A state meet in Casper in the 300 hurdles in 49.5 and ran on the 4x400 relay team that took 6th. In her freshman year in 2017, Shoopman placed 8th in the 100 hurdles at the state meet and 8th in the 300.
She also played basketball in her senior year in 2019-20 averaging 2 points and 2 rebounds per game.
