GREENWOOD, Ind., — University of Wyoming Track & Field student-athlete William Nolan has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Men’s Track & Field Team as announced by the organization on Thursday, July 15th. 

Nolan was among the 12 student-athletes to be honored in District six and the lone Cowboy or Cowgirl to receive the honor for the 2021 season. The junior from Cheyenne majoring in statistics excelled in the classroom and in his two main events, the Long Jump and Triple Jump.

Nolan moved up the Wyoming Top-10 Event Lists in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump ending the season at No. 9 and No. 8 in each respective event. Going 24-7 in the Long Jump and 50-4.75 in the Triple Jump en route to becoming just one of 13 athletes to qualify for the NCAA West Prelims at the 2021 Outdoor T&F Championships in both events. 

Nolan finished in 36th place in the Long Jump and took 46th place in the Triple Jump. 

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-August.
