ALBUQUERQUE -- The Cowboys wrap up their road swing on Tuesday evening heading to New Mexico to face the Lobos at 7 p.m. MT inside The Pit.

The Pokes are winners of six-straight contests and stand alone in first place in the Mountain West Conference. The Pokes entered the rankings this week at No. 22 in the Associated press poll and No. 22 in the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll. It is the first ranking for UW since the 2015 and the highest since the 1988 season.

The contest will air on Stadium and the Mountain West Network. Fans can watch, listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The contest will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Reece Monaco will have the call with Kevin McKinney on color.

About The Teams

Wyoming won their six-straight contest after picking up a 74-52 road win Saturday night at San Jose State.

The Pokes lead the conference and rank No. 11 in the nation in three-point field goal percentage at 28.5 percent. The Cowboys are shooting 48 percent from the field on the season to rank third in the conference and No. 22 in the nation. Wyoming grabbed 45 rebounds on Saturday, as the Pokes average 36 rebounds per game for second in the conference.

The Cowboys have a +3.8 rebound margin on the season for fourth in the conference.

The Lobos are riding a modest two-game win streak, having beaten Air Force and Northern New Mexico.

They sit at 2-8 in Mountain West Conference play. New Mexico averages 76.5 points per game, which ranks second in the league, however, it allows a league-worst 76.2 points per contest. The Lobos connect on 42.2 percent of their jump shots and 35 percent of their shots from beyond the 3-point line

They allow foes to hit 44.9 percent of their field goals and 32.2 percent of their attempts from deep.

About The Players

Wyoming is led by scoring this season by Graham Ike at 20.6 per game to rank second in the league and 10th in the nation. He also leads the team in rebounds at 9.4 per game for third in the MW. He is one of three players in the nation to average over 20 points per game and nine or more rebounds.

He, along with Hunter Maldonado, are the nation’s top scoring duo, as Maldonado adds 19.6 points per game to rank third in the MW. He leads the conference and ranks fifth in the nation with 6.3 assists per game. Drake Jeffries adds 10.9 points per night and ranks fifth in the nation shooting 46 percent from behind the arc.

The Lobos are led by Jamal Mashburn Jr. who pours in 17.9 points per game, which ranks eighth in the conference. Jaelen House isn’t far behind, averaging 16.6 points and a team-best 4.8 assists and two steals per game. KJ Jenkins comes off the bench and chips in 10.4 points per contest.

About The Series

Wyoming trails the all-time series, 75-71. These two conference foes have been playing since 1950. The last 10 meetings are a microcosm of the series as a whole, as New Mexico has won six during that span. With that being said, the Pokes have claimed wins in the last three matchups. However, UW has struggled in The Pit, owning a 24-45 record.
