LARAMIE -- The odds were stacked against Drake Jeffries being selected in Thursday night's NBA Draft.

So, he waited 24 hours.

Wyoming's 3-point sniper will join the Denver Nuggets for the NBA Summer League, according to Jon Chepkevich of rookiescale.com. Jeffries himself retweeted the report on Friday afternoon.

During his two seasons in Laramie, the Matoon, Ill., product was Wyoming's most dangerous outside threat, drilling 39.4% of his shots from deep. Jeffries connected on 40.9% from three last season while helping lead the Cowboys to a 25-9 record and berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Jeffries averaged 10.3 points per game for the Pokes during the 2021-22 campaign. He also pulled down 5.4 rebounds a night. Sixteen times Jeffries landed in double figures, including five games in a row during league play.

In a 108-59 rout of Hasting College last November, Jeffries sank 11-of-17 3-points, breaking a single-game Wyoming and Mountain West record. He finished with a career-high 33 points in the win.

Jeffries began his career at Minot State in North Dakota before transferring to Indian Hills Community College. The 6-foot-5 guard connected on 45% of his threes during his lone season in Iowa. He finished with 86 makes on the year. The former three-star recruit helped lead IHCC to a No. 2 seed in the national tournament.

During his first year in Laramie, Jeffries connected on nearly 37% of his shots from beyond the arc and sank a season-best six threes in wins over Mississippi Valley State and Utah Valley.

Jeffries announced in March that he would forgo his final year of eligibility in pursuit of a professional basketball career. He had summer workouts with the Pelicans, Pistons, Jazz and Pacers.

The NBA Summer League will take place July 7-17 inside the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. All 30 teams will play five games. You can find the television and game schedules right HERE.

Colorado State's David Roddy was the lone Mountain West player selected in Thursday's draft. Philadelphia selected the junior 23rd overall before dealing him to Memphis.
