The New Year starts with a fresh set of rankings with the latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Girls Basketball Poll.

There are a total of three changes, and all three are small moves within the top five. There are no new teams to the rankings.

The top-ranked teams of Thunder Basin, Douglas, Moorcroft, and Kaycee remain the same. Two of them are unanimous selections, while one of the four barely stayed at No. 1.

In 4A, the Bolts are a unanimous choice for the top spot for the first time this year. Thunder Basin received all 14 first-place votes. Cheyenne Central moves into second, as the Indians trade place with Natrona County. The Fillies drop to third. Cheyenne East and Green River hold in fourth and fifth, respectively.

In 3A, the top three are the same. Douglas is a unanimous pick for No. 1 for the fourth consecutive poll. Mountain View and Worland hold in second and third. Lander moves up to fourth, while Lyman drops to No. 5.

Class 2A is the same as the last set of rankings. Moorcroft is on top with five of the eight first-place votes. The Wolves are followed by Rocky Mountain, Tongue River, Big Piney, and Riverside.

The Kaycee Buckaroos stay No. 1 in Class 1A but by only three points in the balloting. Cokeville continues to get closer to returning to the top spot and holds in second. There is a tie for third in the new poll between Southeast and Upton. Encampment falls one position for No. 5.
